Housing and meals

Students will be housed in single or twin rooms in residence halls in Newnham College, Cambridge University. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided daily in the Newnham College student cafeteria.

Facilities

The Summer Advantage office is located in the residence halls. In addition to the student residence, the site also accommodates classrooms and computer facilities with internet access.

Supervision and staff

Students will be supervised by AIFS staff who are on call 24-hours a day and reachable by cell phone. Some AIFS staff live alongside students in student residences. They assist in academic advising and registration and help students gain access to counseling and medical assistance, if necessary. Staff also provide a weekly newsletter with information as well as practical advice and news on cultural events. Students are required to observe a curfew.

Keeping in touch

Students can use the computer lab on campus for access to the internet/email. We strongly recommend that students purchase a cell phone for the duration of the program. AIFS staff will provide more information on how to do this at the on-site orientation meeting.

Visas

Visas are not required for U.S. citizens staying in England less than 3 months.
