St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University
Founded in 1899 and originally named the St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute, St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University is one of the major universities in Russia. More than 20,000 students, as well as a staff of 2,000 professors, lecturers and instructors, work and study at its modern campus.
The academic program for Summer Advantage students is organized by the Russian Language Center at the Preparatory Department for Foreign Students, highly regarded for its excellent teaching of Russian as a foreign language.
Transcripts
Transcripts are issued by St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University. One official copy of the transcript will be mailed free of charge to the address specified in the application form. An end-of-term grade report will also be sent to the home address on your application form.
Assessment and grading
At the end of the program, you will take written and oral exams. You will be given a certain amount of homework over the course of the program, and are expected to attend class. Attendance is compulsory and taken into consideration during grading.
Course selection
After a placement test the first day of classes, you will be placed in language courses depending on your ability. Beginners are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Cyrillic alphabet before arrival.
